Mrs.
Anita Makkar, is a lady of extraordinary virtues and versatility,
an almnus of Hans Raj College, she excelled as a teacher (PGT Mathematics)
in Hans Raj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. Her perseverance,
diligence and sense of conscientiousness, besides her charismatic
nature, brought her into limelight and her career graph bounced
when she was judiciously and aptly made, the Principal of DAV Gurgaon.
Today, a person to be reckoned with, she has won the hearts of not
only the Management but also of the students and their parents.
As an able administrator her acument enabled her to leave no stone
unturned to make this School a model School in India. Difficult
exigencies and trying circumstances did not waver her undaunted
spirit. Rendering help unflinchingly, she has made DAV Gurgaon,
a stronghold, where students imbibe values, morals and a strong
sense of India and the roots of the Indian culture.
Mrs. Anita Makkar has the distinction of being selected, as one
of the Principals who went to Europe, Japan and U.S.A., through
a Cultural Exchange Programme. Her creative instinct made her adopt,
a few salient points of the Schools of the above nations, in order
to help Indian students understand and assimilate the best of other
schools, in their curricula. She has also achieved the coveted award
of "The Woman of the Year" at the hands of Shri Sahib Singh Verma,
the former CM of Delhi. Mrs. Makkar has also received outstanding
recognition by Shri Bhajan Lal, the erstwhile Chief Minister of
Haryana. Today she has carved a niche for herself, due to her foresight,
determination and courage of convictions.
With
the perennial support and guidance of the School Management and
committed staff members she has earned another feather in the cap
- the ISO 9001-2000 Certification of the School. In her yet another
educational venture the Sector 10A branch of the School has become
operational since Aug'03 and is blooming with budding geniuses.
Apart from these facets of her personality, she is also sensitive
to the social needs of that part of society which requires special
emphasis. In this direction a School for mentally challenged is
to be set up in the year 2004. She has also arranged for the regular
evening classes in the School for the underprivileged children.
She is not only an administrator but a lady to be epitomized who
believes in empowering her staff, and personal involvement in the
affair of the School.
