From its inception in 1985, D.A.V Public School, sector-14, Gurgaon
has come a long way standing tall and proud in constant consonance
with the demands of this age of burgeoning e-revolution. The smart
class rooms with e- boards, L.C.D projectors, state of the art
infrastructure, a voluminous collection of 45,000 books in the
library on varied subjects , well- equipped labs , an extensive
playground for 4500 students to hone their sporting skills provide a
conducive atmosphere for the holistic development of its students and
teachers. The School has scaled unprecedented heights and has been
ranked No.1 for 7 years consecutively amongst the DAV institutes in
India and abroad . The success achieved by the school has been
phenomenal, and it has truly emerged as a solitaire, glittering and
shining brightly , carving a niche for itself in the field of
education. This Silver Jubilee year witnessed its culmination with the
celebration on 13 December 2010.
The event began with the invigorating tunes of the school orchestra,
followed by the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra. The little angels from
the kindergarten scintillated in rhythm to a dance on “Mother Nature
Needs Us” highlighting the gifts bestowed by nature and urging us to
sustain it for posterity. The classic tale of the Pied Piper of
Hamelin reminded us of the adage that “promises ought to be kept”. The
founder Principal of the school Mrs. Anita Makkar welcomed the
dignitaries and delivered the Annual School Report, highlighting the
importance of value education, and the need of the society for
balanced individuals firmly grounded in human values. She said ,”I
have full faith in today’s generation. They have intelligence,
prudence, courage of conviction and the determination to walk that
extra mile to achieve their goals.” She also enlightened the august
gathering about the Green School Project undertaken by the school to
motivate students on the need for conserving water and energy
resources.
The Chief Guest for the day Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of
Human Resource Development, Mrs.D.Purandeswari congratulated the
school for achieving so many milestones, and providing quality
education to the students. She empasised the fact that the destiny of
the country is defined in the four walls of the classroom. According
to her a superteacher not only illustrates and inspires the child but
continues to learn. The School Magazine Shubhra along with the
Documentary was released on the occasion. Prizes were awarded to the
students for academic excellence.
Shri Dharambir Singh ,Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Development &
Panchayats and Agricultural Department , Haryana State who appreciated
the school for the exemplary performance and lauded it for having
achieved international standards. He contributed a sum of two lakhs
for the school library.
The ballet “Shoonya Se Anant Tak” portrayed man’s sojourn on earth
,enjoying the bliss of creation , comprising of the five elements, to
the arousal of the Machiavellan instincts that lead to the
annihilation of not just the ecological balance but also his ruin.
A vote of thanks was extended to the dignitaries ,Shri Prabodh Mahajan,
Secretary , D.A.V College Managing Committee and Chairman of the
school; Justice R.N. Mittal, Vice President , D.A.V College Managing
Committee; Mr T.R.Gupta , Secretary , D.A.V College Managing
Committee, and Founder Chairman of the School; Mr Shreedeep Omcheri,
Secretary D.A.V College Managing Committee, Mr R.R.Bhalla, the Vice
Chairman of the School the members of the Local Managing Committee, Mr
V.P.Bajaj, Mr Yogesh Munjal , Dr.D.S.Sharma, Mr Manmohan Dang and
Principals from esteemed institutions . The gala evening came to an
end with the singing of the National Anthem.
